PM's Birthday Special: This time the auction of gifts received by Prime Minister Narendra Modi will start on 17 September and will continue till 2 October. This tradition, which started in 2019, has now reached its seventh edition.

More than 50 crores of help so far

Union Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said that so far Rs 50.33 crore has been raised by auctioning more than 7,000 gifts. The entire amount has been dedicated to the Namami Gange Mission.

Gifts of Paralympic players are the center of attraction

This time around 1,300 gifts are included in the auction. Among these, the shoes given by the medal winners of the 2024 Paralympics are the most popular. The base price of the shoes of silver medalist Nishad Kumar, bronze winner Ajit Singh, and Simran Sharma has been kept at Rs 7.70 lakh.

The idol of Tulja Bhavani is the most expensive

The most expensive item in the auction is the idol of Tulja Bhavani, whose base price has been fixed at Rs 1.03 crore. The initial bid for other items will start from Rs 1,700.

Statues, swords and paintings also included

This time, idols of gods and goddesses, paintings, traditional hats, swords, and heritage found from temples have also been put up for auction for the bidders.

Direct contribution in cleaning Ganga

Shekhawat said that it is a matter of pride to keep the gifts received by PM Modi at home, but through auction, people also contribute to a big campaign like cleaning Ganga.
